Submitting a Manuscript

The proceedings of APS­SCCM will be published as the 19th Biennial APS Conference on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter (SCCM15) by AIP Publishing. The proceedings will be published online ­only, and will be permanently free­ to ­read and available to researchers worldwide without any fee to access or download the papers. No bound copies will be distributed.

Where to send your paper

Manuscripts, prepared according to the author guidelines (also includes templates), should be submitted via the PXP website. The manuscript submission site is currently open, and the deadline to submit manuscripts has been extended to August 15, 2015.

Manuscript page limits

Authors should aim for the following page lengths for their manuscripts: Contributed talks and posters – 4 pages; Invited talks – 8 pages; Plenary talks – 11 pages.

Preparing your paper

Authors are asked to prepare their papers using standard AIP Microsoft Word or LaTeX templates. Full instructions on preparing your paper, along with templates, can be found on the AIP website.

What you need to provide
  • Download your preferred template package (for Word or LaTeX).
  • Write and prepare your article using the AIP template.
  • Create a PDF file of your paper (making sure to embed all fonts).
  • Once the PXP website is provided upload the following items:
    • PDF file of your paper
    • Signed Copyright Transfer Agreement
    • (If it applies) Copies of any permissions to re­use copyrighted materials in your article (e.g., figures from books/journals)


It is important to ensure that when you submit your paper, it is in its final form ready for publication, and has been thoroughly proofread. AIP does not copyedit papers, and will not send out author proofs prior to publication. Please note: post­ publication changes are not usually permitted unless there are exceptional circumstances, so please ensure your paper has been checked for errors.
