First experiment of our Discovery Science Project at National Ignition Facility completed!

Our collaborative team (USF, LLNL, UoR, ASU, SU and KTH), led by Ivan Oleynik, has successfully completed the first shot at National Ignition Facility (NIF) of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. This experiment was conducted as part of our NIF Discovery Science (DS) project, which aims to synthesize the elusive high-pressure BC8 post-diamond phase of carbon.
